Forty different types of game, dozens of international tournaments, a history of several centuries. Poker has every right to be considered the most popular game of chance in the world. And although the honorary name of โcasino king gameโ belongs to roulette, it is the poker that is played worldwide today.
Poker History
Poker is one of the few games of chance that have maintained its popularity throughout the centuries with stability. Nor can poker be considered a beginner in the field of gambling, since the “precursor” of poker is considered card games that appeared in European countries in the sixteenth century.
The history of poker in its current version already has five centuries. Although the greatest success of poker is in the US, the homeland of this card game is Europe. Poker appeared practically at the same time in European countries as important as France, Italy and Spain, although it goes without saying that the rules of European poker from centuries ago differ from the rules to which modern players are accustomed. The name “poker” comes from the name of the French game poque,
According to another version, poker appeared later and not in Europe, but in the US (possibly this would explain the fact that poker is currently one of the most popular games in casinos and that there was a time when it was considered the American national game).
According to this version, the homeland of poker would be the southern regions of the US. Already in 1829 in New Orleans there was poker, which was played in groups of four and the deck was made up of twenty cards. At the time of the gold rush, poker entered the West along with adventure seekers, and at the beginning of the twentieth century it became the type that is known today and with the rules that govern it today.
Description of Poker
Two general principles of this game unite the great variety of types of existing poker (more than forty types of poker are calculated). First of all, the objective of the game is always the same: the player must win the common bite by obtaining the highest combination of cards or forcing the other players to leave the game (which can be achieved by following a special strategy of bets and with lanterns). Second, in any variant of poker there are bets. A standard 52-card deck is used in poker, and up to ten players can participate in the same game.
The poker game consists of several rounds, each of which begins with the distribution of new cards to the players (five cards are dealt). Just after the deal, the player values the cards that have been touched and makes any bet or leaves the game. The winner in poker is always only one.
Poker Rules
The rules of poker generally depend on the type of game – in total there are more than forty different variants in poker, and their rules are often radically differentiated. However, there are several general rules that are common to most types of poker.
The importance of poker cards range from highest to lowest. The major card is the ace, then the king, the queen, the jack, the ten, and so on, with the minor card being the two. If in the last card deal the two remaining players have failed to collect any winning combination, the major card will decide who is the winner, winning the player whose highest card is the highest.
If not one player wins but several win in poker, the common jackpot is divided equally between the winners.
It applies when a player has run out of money and cannot continue betting (for example, after a player has gone all in). In this case a parallel boat is created to which only the remaining players aspire.
The player can place bets starting only from the amount of money he has placed on the table before starting the game. You can only increase the stake between two players, but you cannot do between rounds.
